On this week's episode of the MARBL Podcast, I had the privilege of sitting down with Joelle Rotsaert, founder of Injectual, to explore her journey, her philosophy of beauty, and how she's reshaping the medical aesthetics landscape.

A PERSONAL STORY SHAPING A VISION OF BEAUTY

Joelle's earliest ideas of beauty came from her grandmother, whose long blonde hair left a lasting impression on her as a child. Those early influences planted the seed for how Joelle came to see beauty—not just as external, but as something deeply tied to identity, confidence, and self-expression.

That perspective became even more personal during her own journey transitioning from male to female. Joelle shared candidly how growing up, access to aesthetics and treatments wasn't easy. Many clinics at the time either didn't know how to treat transgender patients or turned them away altogether. That lack of education and inclusion in the industry is what fueled her drive to create something different.

FROM EXCLUSION TO INNOVATION

Today, Joelle leads Injectual, a clinic that not only welcomes but actively specialises in treatments for both feminization and masculinization. It's a space grounded in inclusion, clinical expertise, and genuine care.

Injectual was co-founded with her sister, Dr. Veerle Rotsaert, a renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon with extensive international training and experience. Their combined backgrounds—Joelle's personal journey and deep understanding of identity, and Dr. Veerle's surgical precision and medical leadership—have shaped Injectual into a clinic that marries empathy with clinical excellence.

Unlike many clinics that send patients home straight after treatment, Injectual offers a space to pause and recover. Patients are invited to touch up their makeup, take a moment, and feel fully looked after. This focus on comfort and care—not just the procedure itself—is what makes the Injectual experience different.

WHAT MAKES INJECTUAL DIFFERENT

  • Medical Expertise: Every practitioner is medically trained, with safety at the core of every decision.
  • Aftercare Innovation: A dedicated space helps patients feel restored and ready to step back into the world.
  • Patient-Centred Design: The interiors and service avoid the cold feel of a clinic. Instead, Injectual feels calm, welcoming, and elevated.
  • Specialist Focus: Injectual offers only injectables. That singular focus helps the team deliver clinical and aesthetic excellence.

TRANSJECTUAL: A GUIDE FOR TRANSGENDER AESTHETIC CARE

Joelle also spoke about Transjectual, her upcoming flagship project for the industry. It's a guide designed to help clinics and practitioners provide better care for transgender patients—offering training, resources, and education that support both safety and identity.

LEADING THE FUTURE OF AESTHETICS

What stood out most in our conversation was Joelle's clarity of purpose. Her vision comes from lived experience—and it shows. She knows what exclusion feels like. She knows what support should look like. And she's building the kind of clinic she once searched for herself.

Injectual isn't just a brand or a beautiful space. It's a statement about what aesthetics can be when it's done with care, thoughtfulness, and respect.
